Men's Ministries @ THCWe are currently working with
The Men at the Cross, a discipleship movement of radically committed men serving Christ, family, church, and the workplace. We are learning how to model our friendships on how Paul and Timothy were. To "Timothy" it's the key to maturity in the faith. To "Paul" it is the key to fulfillment. We are working through the
One2Won CrossTraining program. This program is jam packed with 24 weeks’ worth of an in-depth study of God’s word along with helpful application and discussion points.
Pastor Mike loves God! What else can you ask for? He teaches from the Bible, and is a great encourager for us. Pastor Mike teaches from the Word and the Word is in him. Mike went to Baptist Bible College where he met his wife, Paula. Mike and Paula have been in the ministry for over 30 years.

We are a body of believers who love God and are searching for Him with all of our heart. We believe God inspired the Bible; we place our hope in Jesus Christ who was, is, and will be the only way to Heaven. We know that true salvation comes from godly repentance by confession and belief that Jesus Christ paid our debt by his death, He rose from the dead as promised, and that the Holy Spirit, who is in us, was given to help in growing our faith. We believe we are responsible to take the message of Jesus’ death, burial, resurrection and second coming to the entire world, beginning right here in the Treasure Valley.
PURPOSE COLUMN TWO
ABOUT THE BIBLEEvery word in the original writings of the Holy Scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments is inspired of God, without error, and of supreme authority in all manners of faith and life for each and every believer. We believe the correct manner to interpret the Bible is literally, grammatically, and historically. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160; Psalm 12:6; Proverbs 30:5)ABOUT GODGod is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. (Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Genesis 3:22; Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-3; 8:58; 10:30; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2)ABOUT JESUS CHRISTJesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus became incarnate (was made flesh); lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of kings, and Lord of lords. He is 100% true God and 100% true man. (Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5, 14, 18; John 14:10-30; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3-4; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Philippians 2:6-11; Colossians 1:19; 2:9; 1 Timothy 2:5; 6:14-15; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:1-9; 4:14-15; 1 John 5:20)ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRITThe Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He regenerates, indwells, baptizes and empowers those yielded to God. He provides understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily. (Matthew 28:19; John 3:3-7; 14:16-17; 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; 5:3-4; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; 6:19; 12:13; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13; 4:30; 5:1, 18)ABOUT MANMan was created in the image and likeness of God, but in Adam all mankind fell into sin with the result that all men are sinners, hopelessly sinful in themselves, separated from the grace of God. (Genesis 1:27; 9:6; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; 59:1-2; Romans 3:23; 5:12; 8:6-7; Ephesians 2:1-3)ABOUT SALVATIONSalvation is received by faith alone in Jesus Christ, who died in our place as the sacrifice for our sins, according to the Scriptures, and rose again. All who believe on Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood and receive the gift of eternal life. This is the message of the Gospel. (John 1:12; 3:16; 14:6; Acts; 4:12; 16:31; Romans 5:1; 6:23; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5;)ABOUT ETERNAL SECURITYAll who are born of the Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ are secure in their salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security. The indwelling Holy Spirit is the guarantee of that salvation, as promised by Jesus Christ. (John 5:24; 10:27-29; Romans 8:1; 2 Corinthians 1:22; 5:5; Ephesians 1:13-14; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 10:10, 14; 1 Peter 1:3-5; 1 John 5:11-13)ABOUT THE CHURCHJesus is the Head of the church. The church is a local and unified group of believers who share a common faith in Jesus Christ, a commitment to the Bible, and a desire to follow God’s plan to impact the world around them. Church members are to live their lives in such a way that others can see their obedience to Jesus’ teachings. Every member is to discover and employ his God-given gifts, talents and abilities for the benefit of the church as a whole and the community at large. The leaders of the church are to model the servant leadership of Jesus. The local church is an autonomous group of believers who follow the headship of Christ under the immediate leadership of their pastors and teachers. On all matters of membership, policy, government, discipline, and benevolence, the will of the local church is final. We believe that the true mission of the church is found in the Great Commission: (1) to make individual disciples; (2) to build up the church; and (3) to teach and instruct as He has commanded. (Acts 2:41-42; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Ephesians 1:22-23; 4:11-16; 5:23-30; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-9; Hebrews 13:7, 17; 1 Peter 1:15-16)ABOUT SPIRITUAL GIFTSThe Holy Spirit endows every believer with at least one spiritual gift to use within the church body. The purposes for which the Spirit gives these ministry gifts to believers are described in Ephesians 4:12-16. The gift of tongues was, like the gifts of apostleship and prophecy, given for the founding of the early church as a sign to the Jews and is, therefore, not being given today. While we recognize that God may give any gift to the church at anytime, we believe that the current resurgence of the practice of tongues is not the Scriptural gift of tongues. (1 Corinthians 14:21-22; Ephesians 2:20; Hebrews 2:3-4)ABOUT THE CHRISTIAN LIFEChristians are called to a holy life of service and testimony in the power of the Holy Spirit, which service includes sharing the Gospel message to the whole world. There is a promised reward in heaven for faithfulness in such service. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 3:12-17; 1 Peter 1:15-16)ABOUT THE ORDINANCESThe Scriptural ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are for all believers of Jesus Christ. They are the outward sign of the new believer’s identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ through baptism, and the visible representation of His death through the bread (His broken body) and the wine (His shed blood), even while proclaiming His future return as Lord and ruler of this earth. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)ABOUT ANGELSAngels were originally created holy, but now exist as unfallen and fallen angels, including Satan. The unfallen angels obey God and serve Him in order to bring about His plan for mankind and His creation. (Job 38:6-7; Psalm 148:2, 5; Isaiah 14:12-17; Ezekiel 28:11-19; Matthew 25:41; Ephesians 6:11-12; Colossians 1:16; 1 Timothy 5:21; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 6; Revelation 12:9)ABOUT FUTURE EVENTSGod has established a specific time frame for the events of this world. No one knows the exact length of that pre-determined time. Jesus will return at the end of this present Church Age to gather together His followers. Those who do not believe in Him will remain on this earth for a seven-year period of tribulation. Jesus will return again at the end of this period to establish a literal kingdom on earth for one thousand years. At the end of His millennial reign He will judge all those who have rejected His salvation and grace from every generation as well as those who remain alive at the end of the thousand years. (Daniel 9:24-27; Matthew 24:21, 29-30; 25:31-46; John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 4:13-18; 5:4-10; Titus 2:13; Revelation 3:10; 20:1-6, 11-15)ABOUT ETERNITYMan was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. (Matthew 25:31-46; John 2:25; 3:16; 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; 1 John 5:11-12; Revelation 20:15)
